The DataFrame has been designed for maximum reliability.  However, occasionally, a disk may become unreadable due to software corruption or other factors.  In such a case, you may lose all your valuable files forever.

To avoid this possibility, you should back up (make a duplicate of) the files on your disk on a regular basis.  That way, should your hard disk ever have problems, you will have a copy of your files available.
